To help your employees truly feel like they can and should be engaging with your company and it’s future, it’s important that your employees feel like they have a sense of ownership. While this doesn’t necessarily have to be actual ownership or stake in the business, Marcel Schwantes, a contributor to Inc.com, shares that you should allow them to have ownership in some sense to their work or the work your company’s doing in general. By treating your employees like partners in your business, they’ll become more invested and engaged in every aspect of their work.

While almost all adults are happy with having a job that helps them pay the bills and create a comfortable life for themselves, many employees feel that they can more easily engage with and believe in a company that they can personally be proud of. To make this possible, Terri Williams, a contributor to Investopedia.com, advises that companies try to stand for a higher moral value or focus at least some of their time or money on a worthy cause that your employees can get behind.
